Practical 'Improvise - Rehearse - and Perform' Theatre Days
One Saturday in November, 25 drama practitioners - primary, secondary -came to a practical session led by Kate Saxon of Shared Experience Theatre company. It was wonderful! We improvised creatively, and became an ensemble theatre company for the day. Kate led the workshop keeping a fluid flow of activities while referencing the distinctive visual impact of the Shared Experience theatre style. We were working at our own level, gently stretching our imaginative muscles, yet so much of the work was a very rich resource for our classes back at school. A brilliant day!
This is the model we are aiming to re-create via our regular termly Theatre Days. We meet in a key theatre venue - say the Studio Theatre at Hampstead Theatre, under the direction of a professional theatre director. We improvise, and create a piece of inventive and exciting theatre to be performed at the end of the day. Being theatre practitioners in our own right! COME AND JOIN US!
