Rehearsal Techniques with GCSE Classes

Rehearsal Techniques with GCSE Classes

Rehearsal Techniques with GCSE Classes

Where did all that time go?

Despite there seeming to be plenty of time for the preparation of GCSE and A level pieces, it seems to get eaten away and then you are pressurised into problem solving in varying directions in the last few days.

This session is focused on rehearsal techniques which will ensure progression and structure for classes so that

  • a basic momentum can be assured across the group;
  • the students who turn up are not so disadvantaged by those who don’t;
  • structure and support can be assured throughout the course;
  • students learn independent rehearsal techniques providing ownership and control over their work;
  • you are released to monitor, assess and support.

Amanda Kipling has been a secondary drama teacher and is currently the leader of the PGCE Drama Course at Goldsmiths College. She has been a member of the English Speaking Board for many years and is a former editor of ESB’s Speaking English magazine and a Trustee of London Drama.
