Drama Now! ~ and the Way Ahead 2013 (Members)

London Drama's non-residential two day Workshop-Conference: Drama Now! ~ and the Way Ahead 2013 takes place on Thursday 11th April and Friday 12th April 2013 at Goldsmiths College, New Cross in partnership with Goldsmiths Centre for Arts and Learning (CAL).

This Conference is the second one that London Drama has organised and builds on the developments and gains made at the 2012 Conference with workshops covering Classroom Drama Methods, After-School Drama, Personal Skills (Improvisation, Voice). At a time when the arts in education are facing even more challenges, the Conference is designed to inspire and support key teaching practices and is an opportunity to meet fellow practitioners from a range of sectors, and exchange ideas for your future career!

Our aim is to bring together a diverse range of Drama, Theatre and Performing Arts teachers and practitioners, who are currently involved in the field of education, from London and beyond in order to enable links and put you in touch with one another to share current projects and practice.

The Conference will provide you with an experience of:

  • A Keynote speech by a leading drama practitioner;
  • Six practical workshops led by Drama and Theatre practitioners;
  • Two opportunities to present a paper or make a presentation about YOUR work;
  • A performance by young people;
  • A “marketplace” of opportunities and support through Drama/Theatre organisations in London;
  • A wide range of resources via London Drama Bookstall.

The workshops are designed to be inspirational experiences, appropriate and useful whether you are a Primary or Secondary teacher, in Higher Education or a Young People's Theatre practitioner, company or organisation. You get to experience ALL the workshops.

The papers and presentations slots will give you the opportunity to share your work with other drama teachers and practitioners. It will be an exciting and very rich drama experience which should also provide you with loads of new ideas and new materials to try out with your classes. N.B.This option is only available to people who have booked and paid for attendance at the Conference.

There will also be a session to assess Drama in the current context of the new Primary Curriculum plus report-backs on Drama operating outside the National Curriculum in the growing number of Academies and Free Schools.

For the full range of Member booking fees go to Conference Fees 2013.

Note: If you attended the 2012 Conference (thank you!) and ONLY if you attended the 2012 Conference you get an extra 10% discount  = £216 for both days; £126 for single days. Book as '2012 Returner' via Other LD Member Options below. The full range of fees is outlined below.
