Le Jeu, the physical actor and the ensemble (Members)

Le Jeu, the physical actor and the ensemble (Members) £85.00 £75.00

Play your way into characterization and playfully build the ensemble: a wide variety of physical approaches (including Lecoq) will be used during the workshop to encourage participants to discover and cultivate their own sense of le jeu (playfulnes), complicité (togetherness) and disponibilité (openness). Alongside discovering these principles themselves, participants will learn how to guide others, specifically young people, in doing the same.

*Participants will need to come ready for a highly physical workshop eg. Wear clothes that are easy to move in and bring a water bottle.

Ana Brothers trained as an actor at Toi Whakaari The New Zealand Drama School under Lecoq-trained actor Tom McCrory and Gaulier-trained director Christian Penny. Since graduating in 2006 Ana has developed her own practice as a devisor, actor, teacher and workshop leader working with a wide range of performers including: theatre professionals; emerging artists; young people; and community groups. Ana has recently been appointed as Lecturer in Physical Theatre and Physical Theatre Performance at Morley College.

The Workshop will take place on Saturday 3rd October 2015 10.30-4pm at Jerwood Space, 171 Union Street, SE1 0LN.
